Automated Vehicular Gates – Switched on this Thursday 17th - Tuesday, November 15, 2011

As you may be aware the automated Vehicular Gates at Ealing Village are set to be closed during the hours of 19:00 to 07:00.

 

The gates will come into operation on Thursday 17th November 2011.

 

Please note you will need either the eight digit code or Transmitter fob to enter the village via the vehicular gates, either by car or motorcycle during these hours.

 

When exiting the village by car or motorcycle during these hours, please stop at the white stop line in order to trigger the gates opening. Please wait there until the gates are fully open before driving through.

Ealing Village wins Lottery Funding - Thursday, August 25, 2011

Ealing Village has secured £9,000 of funding from Awards for All, a National Lottery grants scheme focused on small, local community-based projects in the UK.

 

The application, submitted by Dan Johnson and Robin Whittaker, was for improvements to the Clubhouse.

 
The funding would be used to create a safe space for children to play in all weathers, community members to meet and groups to hold organised social activities. A small communal library, games and furnishings will be provided to encourage use of the space.

More information on the proposed changes and how you can get involved will be circulated in due course.

 
Vehicular Gates Update - Thursday, August 25, 2011

The implementation of the front vehicular gates automation will come into operation towards the end of September. The delay is to allow the full details of the scheme to be circulated to all.

 

EVL is would like to find out from residents if they want keep the gates open beyond the hours recommended by TfL. Please let us have your views by completing the slip attached to the letter and returning it flat 122 by as soon as possible.

 
Front gates Update - Thursday, July 28, 2011

Following the recent notice please be aware that the locks on front pedestrian gates are now active. These gates operates exactly as the back gate on Madeley Road, though the code is only needed between 19:00 and 07:00.

 

Over the next month the vehicular gates will come into operation (more information to follow). If you are yet to supply a contact number to Crabtree, please do so ASAP. Fobs , instructions and FAQs will be distributed shortly.

 

Transport for London have requested that Ealing Village keep the main vehicular gates open from 07:00 to 19:00. However, EVL is would like to find out from residents if they want keep the gates open beyond these hours. Please let us have your views by completing the slip attached to the letter and returning it flat 122 by August 15th.

 
Pool Access Update - Thursday, July 28, 2011

As per the recent Newsletter, the updated pool rules and procedures are now in place. You can view these, together with a number of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs), on the pool page on the website.

 

Recent warm water has helped warm up the pool, however to maintain comfortable swimming temperatures please ensure that you replace the pool cover when you finish your swim. The pool cover helps to warm the water and retain the heat. Operating the pool cover is very easy, a short video is now available to show you how it is done.

 

Unfortunately there has been another vandalism incident in Ealing Village. The pool Men's toilet door has been damaged by someone trying to force their way in. The incident took place on Monday and has been reported to the police. If you have any information that could help the police investigation, please contact Ealing Borough Police.

 

To improve access to the toilets from the pool new keypads locks will be fitted to the men's and lady's toilet doors.

  • To access the toilets from the pool you will need you clubhouse keys.
  • To return from the toilets to the pool you will need your clubhouse key and personal pool access code. This code will be the same as the one used to access the pool through the main gate.
  • Access to from the Clubhouse to the toilets will no longer need to be restricted over the pool season.

 

The keypads and the above arrangement will come into place over the next week or two.

 
Tennis Court - Monday, June 13, 2011

The Tennis court fence has now been fixed, following the fallen tree.

 

The court will be jet washed this week and should be ready for use.

 
Pool Opening - Access to the swimming pool - Wednesday, May 18, 2011

Improvements to the pool and pool area are progressing well with the intention of reopening the pool at the end of May for the 2nd Bank Holiday.

 

To improve poolside security and safety, a new timed lock has been installed on the pool gate this season. It will restrict access to between the hours of 06:00 - 22:00.

 

The timed lock has a number pad feature similar to the lock on the back gate. However, each resident will have its code made up of the flat number and a unique 4-digit PIN of your choice.

 

To gain entry to the pool area you will need your existing pool key and new number code.

 

 


To obtain your new number code, you will need to complete a Pool Access Form.

 

You will not have access to the pool unless you have completed the Pool Access Form, which confirms that you have read and accept the Ealing Village Swimming Pool Operating Policy.

 

 

In the next few days residents will receive a Swimming Pool User Pack which includes:

Copies of the Pack will also available at the coffee morning in the Clubhouse on the 22nd May at 11:00am. Additionally copies will be available via the website.

 

In order to allow the lock to be programmed in time for the pool opening, completed forms should returned to flat 127 by 25th May. Although, codes will be given out after this date, you will not have access to the pool until you have returned the completed form and the computerised access system has been updated which is not an instant process.

 

*In order to better understand pool usage we have included an optional short survey for residents to complete. Please return completed surveys along with your Pool Access Form to flat 127.

 
Pool Opening - Thursday, May 5, 2011

Improvements to the pool and pool area are currently being undertaken with the intention of reopening the pool at the end of May for the 2nd Bank Holiday.

 

In order to inform residents of the work being done and the rationale behind these, a coffee morning will be held on Sunday 22nd May at 11 a.m in the Clubhouse.

 

EVL would also like to offer 10 residents the opportunity to become trained in pool rescue and first aid. The training session will be held on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th and you will need to be available for both dates. The training is free and is offered on a first come first served basis.

New Front Gates - Wednesday, March 2, 2011

Further to previous communication and in response to concerns raised by residents and EVRA about security in Ealing Village, EVL has approved a three-point plan which will gradually restrict access to the site to residents or those who have legitimate business in Ealing Village only. 

 

The first stage, completed last September, saw new gates and keypad lock fitted to the back entrance at Madeley Road.

 

The second stage is the fitting of new pedestrian front gates with similar style keypad lock.

 

The third stage is the installation of new automated vehicular front gates, which will control traffic entering the site.  

        

In the next few weeks the keypad locks will become functional and automatically lock from 7pm to 7am. Between these hours you will need to put in the four number code to open the pedestrian gates. The code for the new front gates will be the same as that for the back gate to Madeley Road.

 

The vehicular gates are expected to become operational in April, to coincide with the road resurfacing. The actual timing for this will be determined by TfL.

 

TfL have asked that we only close the vehicular gates from 7pm to 7am, which will therefore match the locking of the pedestrian gates. The back gate to Madeley Road will continue to be locked all the time.

Open Meeting March 1 - Meet the Managing Agent from Manor Court - Thursday, February 17, 2011

Manor Court is similar in design and age to Ealing Village i.e. 1930s Dutch style, as they were both designed by the same architect, R. Toms and Partners and both built by the Bell Property Trust.

In 1999, Manor Court faced a proposal to fund costs of £5 million of work. Manor Court residents felt that these were unaffordable and changed their managing agent to Frank Bailey and Partners, who offered an affordable alternative to maintaining Manor Court . Andrew McKeer, from Frank Bailey and Partners, will be talking to us about the original proposal and the approach they took instead to meet the residents needs.

 

The meeting will take place on Tuesday 1st March 2011 7.00pm at the Ealing Village Clubhouse and is open to all residents and leaseholders.

 

This is another great opportunity to learn more about how a project like this has been achieved.

Come and meet our new Property - Sunday, February 6, 2011

Come and meet our new Property Manager Tom Lloyd.

 

Tom will be holding an informal drop-in session on Tuesday 15th February from 6:00pm. It's a chance for him to introduce himself to all residents. Feel free to come along and speak to Tom about specific issues or just to say hello.

Open Meeting – See how Lichfield Court did it - Tuesday, January 11, 2011

Meet the team behind the successful renovation project at Lichfield Court.

 

Hunter Price, the team that delivered the renovations of Lichfield Court, will be giving a presentation of their past and current projects and be open for questions.

 

Lichfield Court in Richmond, like Ealing Village, is a 1930s Grade II-listed site. It has recently gone though a renovation programme similar to that considered for Ealing Village.

 

The meeting will take place on Thursday Jan 20th at 19:30 in the Clubhouse and is open to all residents and leaseholders.

 

This is a great opportunity to learn more about how a project like this has been achieved.
